Trump Media & Technology Group, the publicly traded owner of Truth Social, plans to launch a paid data service on Aug. 1 that will give institutional customers licensed, real-time access to posts from the platform's highest-ranking accounts. The company said the application programming interface, or API, will operate around the clock and has already enrolled some institutional clients.

The service is aimed at firms seeking rapid access to information that could affect financial markets. Trump Media interim Chief Executive Kevin McGurn said markets already respond to Truth Social posts and described the product as a potential source of recurring revenue. The company is loss-making, and it has said unauthorized parties have copied its data; McGurn said the company intends to block such methods.

President Donald Trump's account is Truth Social's largest, and he often uses the platform to publish official communications, including posts on tariffs and other policy matters. His family is the largest shareholder in Trump Media, while Trump transferred his shares to a revocable trust named for his son Donald Trump Jr. after winning the presidency. That relationship has drawn ethical criticism. Virginia Canter of the nonprofit Democracy Defenders Fund called the arrangement a conflict of interest, arguing that presidential information is being routed through a company in which Trump has a private interest.

Paid data feeds are already offered by other social-media companies, and Wall Street firms use them to identify market-moving information and analyze posts. Trump Media, which began trading on Nasdaq under the symbol DJT in March 2024, has faced difficulty turning a profit in its core business. The company reported a $406 million net loss in the first quarter of 2026, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings cited by CNBC.
