Audrey Gelman, a co-founder of the Wing, is hosting murder-mystery evenings at her guesthouse in New York’s Hudson Valley, drawing on what has been described as her longstanding affection for play. Details of the format, schedule and guest access for those events were not provided.
In Southern California, Pirates Dinner Adventure in Buena Park opened a separate interactive production, “The Speakeasy Murder & Other Acts of Prohibition,” on June 4. The show, produced by EG Murder Media, places guests in a fictional 1929 New York nightclub called Club 38 and combines a two-act performance with a three-course prix fixe meal.
The Buena Park production runs for about two hours and 15 minutes and is rated PG-13. Its setting accommodates about 125 guests, with performers appearing on the stage, at the bar and around dinner tables. The menu includes chicken, pasta, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free pasta and children’s options.
Participation in the Buena Park show is optional, according to creator and co-producer Erik Hastings. Guests who choose to engage can use supplied “bribe money” to seek information from characters; in the second act, they can question the cast and choose whom to arrest in the scripted murder mystery. The production previously opened at Pirates Dinner Adventure’s Orlando location in 2025.
